Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has revealed why she no longer attends church services in person, citing persistent public attention during worship.
The actress made this known in a viral video shared on her Snapchat page, where she was seen preparing breakfast for her children as they got ready for church.
Speaking in the clip, Akindele appealed for understanding over her decision, explaining that physical attendance often draws overwhelming attention from congregants.
“I am making breakfast for the kids getting ready for church. Please don’t be annoyed I am not going to church.
Anytime I go to church, it’s me they focus on to take pictures of, so I will join online. Cheerful Sunday,” she said.
Her remarks have since triggered mixed reactions on social media, with many fans expressing sympathy over the pressures celebrities face in public spaces, including places of worship.
