Three members of the Boys Brigade Nigeria have died in a road accident along the Gombe-Billiri highway, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Gombe State has confirmed.
The victims were en route to Tal in Billiri Local Government Area on Tuesday to attend the funeral of a fellow Brigade member and his daughter, who had earlier died in a separate accident at Rainbow Roundabout.
FRSC spokesperson, Janet Kassa, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, noting that preliminary investigations indicate a tyre failure may have caused the crash.
In response to the tragedy, the outgoing Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Gombe Branch, Benjamin Sati, extended condolences to the bereaved families and the Boys Brigade community.
“The Nigerian Bar Association, Gombe Branch, commiserates with the Boys Brigade Nigeria, Gombe State Council, particularly its President, Chief Caleb Ubale Esq., the families of the deceased, and the injured members,” the statement read.
Sati also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and comfort for those mourning. “May God grant healing to the injured and strength to the bereaved.
Even in sorrow, may you find reasons to be grateful,” he added.
