The Ogun State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has dismissed six female recruits after they were found to be pregnant before the commencement of their training.

The agency’s Corps Commander, retired Brigadier General Alade Adedigba, disclosed this after a routine pregnancy test was conducted on approximately 125 female recruits.

He said the dismissal was necessary to safeguard the health of the recruits and maintain the agency’s standards of discipline and professionalism.

According to Adedigba, the intensive three-week training is physically demanding and could pose health risks such as miscarriage or birth defects for expectant mothers.

“This difficult but necessary decision is in line with our commitment to providing a safe training environment and upholding public safety and health,” he explained.

While expressing appreciation for the dedication of the affected recruits, Adedigba assured them of an opportunity to return in future exercises after childbirth.

“We commend their willingness to serve and protect their communities.

Once they are ready, they are welcome to rejoin our recruitment process,” he added.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring all recruits complete their training without health complications.
