The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers linked to the killing of Abuja-based disc jockey, Bashir Dauda, popularly known as DJ Bash.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Shaibu (28), Yusuf Salihu (40), Awulu Nuhu (25), and Usman Yerima (28), were apprehended in separate operations carried out between September 3 and 19 in Kagini, Abuja, and Madalla, Niger State.

Police said the gang, notorious for terrorising residents of Gwarinpa and Dawaki, was responsible for several violent attacks, including the raid on Volcano Peak Court Hotel, Gwarinpa, where DJ Bash was fatally shot.

During the operations, operatives recovered two English pistols, 49 rounds of live ammunition, a Toyota Corolla (2012 model), and 10 suspected stolen Android phones.

The suspects reportedly confessed to multiple crimes, including the armed robbery of a resident at Hillside Estate, Dawaki.

According to the command, CCTV footage also captured some of their operations, confirming their involvement in violent robberies around the FCT.

Commissioner of Police Ajao Adewale commended the operatives for their professionalism and resilience, assuring residents of the command’s commitment to safety while urging them to remain vigilant and share credible information with the police.

The arrest comes as Abuja grapples with rising insecurity, with communities in Gwarinpa, Dawaki, Lugbe, and Kubwa raising alarm over recurring cases of armed robbery, kidnappings, and cult-related violence.
