A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning along Oda Road in Akure, the Ondo State capital, when a man was crushed to death by a tipper.
The victim, who was reportedly returning home after dropping his children at school, died instantly after the speeding tipper lost control and rammed into his motorcycle.
An eyewitness told The Hope that the incident happened suddenly, leaving residents and passersby in shock.
“The man had just dropped his children at school and was on his way home when the tipper crushed him. It was a very sad scene,” the witness said.
The driver of the tipper was said to have fled immediately after the crash, while the victim’s body was later evacuated from the scene.
Efforts were said to be ongoing by security operatives to apprehend the fleeing driver.
