Civil servants in Ondo State have begun receiving their 2025 annual leave bonus following the approval of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who also authorized the payment of outstanding pension arrears and hazard allowances for health workers.
The approval was reached after a crucial meeting between senior government officials and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), led by Comrades Ademola Olapade and Segun Ajiboye.
Findings by WESTERN POST indicate that some civil servants have started receiving credit alerts for their leave bonus.
However, discrepancies have been reported in the payment process, with some workers alleging underpayment while others claimed to have received excess amounts.
Sources within the state government attributed the irregularities to technical hitches in the payment system and assured that corrections were being made.
The NLC and JNC had earlier threatened to embark on an industrial action over delays in the payment of workers’ entitlements, a move believed to have prompted the government to fast-track the disbursement
