Former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Senator Abba Moro’s son and grandson, who both died within two days.
In a statement issued on Monday by his media aide, Terver Akase, Ortom described the incident as a heartbreaking double tragedy that defies comprehension.
He said the loss of Victor Moro, a young man who had just completed his studies in Turkey and returned to Nigeria for the National Youth Service Corps, was particularly devastating.
Victor reportedly died in a fatal road accident shortly after resuming service.
“The death of such a promising young man is especially painful,” Ortom said, noting that the tragedy had plunged the Moro family and their friends into mourning.
“This is indeed a moment of deep pain and sorrow for my brother and friend, Senator Abba Moro. No words are enough to console a father in this kind of situation. My heart goes out to him and the entire family.
I pray that God, in His infinite mercy, will comfort them and grant the souls of the departed eternal rest,” he stated.
Ortom prayed for divine strength for the senator and his family, urging them to find solace in faith as they bear the irreplaceable loss.
