Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested 14 suspects believed to be involved in traffic-related robberies along the Lekki–Epe Expressway over the past two weeks.
The arrests were confirmed on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, in a post on her official X handle, @AbimbolaShotayo. She said the suspects were rounded up at various points on the busy corridor following coordinated patrols and intelligence-led operations by the Tactical Squad based in Elemoro.
Adebisi explained that the swoops formed part of sustained efforts to tackle crimes that exploit congestion and vulnerable road users, and to restore safety for motorists and commuters using the axis.
She urged residents and drivers to cooperate with the police by supplying timely, credible information that could help prevent and detect criminal activity, reiterating the command’s community policing appeal that security is a shared responsibility.
The Lagos police pledged to maintain aggressive patrols and proactive policing on the Lekki–Epe route to safeguard lives and property.
