Hon. Bode Ijalana, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has commiserated with residents of Ipele community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State following the recent attack on the Divisional Police Station in the town.

It would be recalled that gunmen suspected to be bandits had on Wednesday night attacked the police facility in the agrarian community, throwing the area into tension before security agencies swiftly moved in to restore calm.

In a statement issued by the BBC Media Team, Ijalana, who is popularly known as BBC and a former House of Assembly aspirant, described the incident as unfortunate and disturbing.

He expressed sympathy with the people of Ipele, particularly those affected by the attack, while commending security operatives for their prompt intervention, which he said prevented loss of lives and further destruction.

The APC chieftain advised residents to remain calm and vigilant, urging them to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid the arrest of the perpetrators.

He also urged youths in the community against being used as instruments of violence, stressing that peace and unity remain essential for development.

Ijalana further called on relevant authorities to sustain security surveillance in Ipele and neighbouring communities, assuring residents of his solidarity and continued support.
