Four children abducted in Nasarawa State have been rescued and safely returned to their families following a coordinated operation between the Nasarawa State Police Command and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

The rescue operation was launched after the children were reported missing on December 31, 2025, at the New Nyanya Police Division in Karu Local Government Area under suspicious circumstances.

The report prompted an immediate investigation by the police.

SP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s spokesperson, said intelligence-led detectives quickly traced the children to a hideout, where they were recovered unharmed.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the abduction was allegedly orchestrated by 28-year-old Abraham Asoje, aided by 29-year-old Joy Bolaje, both residents of Ado Junction in Karu LGA.

“The children were safely recovered and have since been reunited with their families,” Nansel said, adding that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals believed to be connected to the case.

The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the officers for their prompt and professional response.

He described the operation as a demonstration of effective policing and collaboration between state and FCT commands.

CP Mohammed also reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives, particularly those of children and other vulnerable groups.

He urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and ensure the safety of their wards.

The police further appealed to the public to report any suspicious activities promptly to the nearest station or via the command’s emergency lines, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in curbing crime across the state.
