Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has declared Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sule made the disclosure during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House, signalling early moves within the ruling party as preparations for the next election cycle gather momentum.
Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party to the APC, a move widely interpreted as positioning himself for the governorship race.
The governor’s endorsement is expected to shape the internal dynamics of the APC in the state, as party stakeholders begin consultations and alignments ahead of the primaries.
