No fewer than three persons sustained injuries on Saturday after a container-laden truck reportedly suffered brake failure at the Molete Underbridge area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The accident, which occurred in the busy corridor, left a trail of destruction as a tricycle and more than 10 motorcycles were damaged in the crash.
Eyewitnesses said the truck lost control while descending towards the underbridge, ramming into nearby vehicles and triggering panic among motorists and pedestrians.
The impact of the crash caused significant obstruction on the road, forcing many drivers to divert to the opposite lane, thereby worsening traffic in the area.
A user on X, who shared details of the incident, attributed the accident to brake failure, noting that the affected vehicles were severely damaged.
Motorists have since been advised to avoid the route and consider alternative roads to ease congestion as efforts continue to clear the wreckage.
