In the wake of the Supreme Court ruling on the leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, key stakeholders of the opposition party convened an emergency closed-door meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
Among those present at the high-level deliberations are Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, alongside members of the party’s Board of Trustees and the National Executive Committee.
The meeting, taking place at Bauchi House in Asokoro, is still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
Top party organs represented at the session include the BoT, National Assembly caucus, National Executive Committee, National Caucus, state chairmen, and ex-officio members, underscoring the gravity of the situation confronting the party.
Earlier, the Board of Trustees, under the leadership of its Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, had announced its intention to assume control of the party’s affairs pending the formation of a caretaker committee to steer its operations.
