In a statement issued on Sunday by the university’s Director of Corporate Communication and Protocol, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo, the institution disclosed that the student’s body was discovered on Saturday.

According to the statement, the university’s security unit alerted the police immediately the incident was reported to the management.

Adebanjo explained that police officers were subsequently deployed to the scene, while medical personnel from the university, alongside security operatives, facilitated the evacuation of the body to the morgue.

He added that the family of the deceased had been informed about the unfortunate development.

The university spokesman noted that the police had commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death, stressing that the institution was cooperating fully with security agencies handling the case.
