Igboho threatens tough action against kidnap collaborators in Yorubaland

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has warned individuals of Yoruba extraction allegedly collaborating with kidnapping gangs operating in the South-West, vowing severe consequences for anyone found aiding criminal activities in the region.

Igboho issued the warning during a visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, where he expressed concern over what he described as the growing involvement of some locals in kidnapping operations.

According to him, certain Yoruba indigenes have allegedly been working with criminal elements to facilitate the abduction of residents across parts of the region.

The activist declared that anyone found conspiring with kidnappers to terrorise communities would face grave repercussions, stressing that such acts amounted to a betrayal of their people.

He particularly warned residents of his hometown against supporting criminal groups, insisting that those involved in aiding kidnappers would eventually face justice.

The latest remarks came days after Igboho reportedly issued an ultimatum to members of the Fulani community in Igboho to secure the release of a pregnant woman and her sibling who were abducted in the area.

His comments have further intensified conversations surrounding insecurity and the fight against kidnapping in parts of the South-West, where community leaders and security stakeholders continue to seek lasting solutions to the menace.
