The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has disclosed that 447 people were prosecuted in 2025 for dumping refuse on roads and other unauthorised locations across the state. Operatives of the Goa Police Crime Branch in India have arrested a 42-year-old Nigerian, Omorigo Friday, over alleged possession and trafficking of cocaine valued at 15.89 lakh in the international market. The suspect was apprehended during a raid carried out in Pilerne area of Northy Goa on Friday. Tragedy struck along the Okota–Mile 2 corridor of Lagos State on Tuesday as a commercial bus driver and a female passenger were burnt to death after their vehicle burst into flames. Eight other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries in the incident.
