The police command in Benue State has announced the release of 20 students of the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos kidnapped by gunmen on August 15. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene, confirmed the development at 11.15 p.m. on Friday in Makurdi. Recall that the students, who were travelling to Enugu for their annual Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students Convention, were abducted in Otukpo. Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Lekan Ogunsanya, for allegedly breaking into two buildings in Isoso, Sagamu Local Government Area, and stealing air conditioners and cables.
