On Wednesday, the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court fixed September 25 for the arraignment of former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello in spite of a case being filed at the Court of Appeal in Abuja. The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on Wednesday refused to grant an application filed by Olu Agunloye, a former minister of power and steel, seeking to travel abroad for medical treatment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting him over certain infractions regarding the $6 billion Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station in Taraba. The police on Wednesday arraigned a 44-year-old man, Temitope Oyeyemi, in an Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged possession of Indian hemp. The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a charge of possession of Indian hemp. The police prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 10, at about 01:30 p.m in Ikere-Ekiti.
