The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thundery and rainy weather conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has declared N3.3 trillion in profit for the 2023 financial year. Chief financial officer of NNPC Ltd., Umar Ajiya, who addressed journalists on Monday on the development, said this was the highest profit declared by the company since its inception. Meanwhile, NNPC Ltd. has declared N2.101 trillion as a dividend for the 2023 financial year. The police have launched a manhunt for the abductors of students of the Enugu State College of Health Technology in Oji River Local Government Area. It was gathered that the armed men suspected to be herdsmen invaded the college and abducted five students as they were leaving the school premises. A magistrates’ court in Makurdi, Benue State capital, on Monday remanded a farmer, Awase Benjamin, for allegedly destroying government property and illegal possession of a firearm. The magistrate, Kelvin Mbanongun, did not take Mr Benjamin’s plea for want in the jurisdiction to hear the matter. Mr Mbanongun ordered that Mr Benjamin be remanded in the Makurdi Correctional Centre, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
