The Peoples Democratic Party is to inaugurate two committees – one for reconciliation and another for discipline – on August 21. The disclosure was made by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday in Abuja. The 25-member reconciliation committee is chaired by a former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola while Sen. Ibrahim Dankwambo, former governor of Gombe State. is Secretary. The ECOWAS Regional Centre for Surveillance and Disease Control has reported that monkeypox continues to spread in the region, with 44 confirmed cases and one death recorded by the end of Epi Week 33, 2024. The National Youth Service Corps has demobilised 54 “graduates” that were illegally mobilised for youth service by the University of Calabar. The Director-General, NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed said this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa.
