The Police Command in Delta State said it killed a member of a kidnap syndicate and recovered the gang’s weapons. The command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to journalists in Warri on Wednesday. A 39-year-old man, Ajayi Olanrewaju, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Grade ‘A’ Customary Court over alleged N12 million fraud. Mr Olanrewaju, a car dealer whose address was not given, is being charged with fraud and stealing. Two men, Hammed Abdulrasheed and Abiodun Aluko, on Wednesday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N1.2 million. On Wednesday, the Jos Magistrates’ Court sentenced a 22-year-old tailor, Arron Garba, to 18 months’ imprisonment for stealing aluminium windows from a church. The magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced Garba after he pleaded guilty to theft. The magistrate, however, gave the convict an option to pay N50,000 or to spend a year in prison.
