The police command in Lagos State has confirmed the death of a 17-year- old boy electrocuted while working with his step-father at a building construction site. The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this on Saturday. On Friday, two men, Fanimo Gbenga, 44, and Adebayo Wasiu, 42, were arraigned in a chief magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti over alleged possession of Indian hemp. The defendants, of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of possession of Indian hemp. The prosecutor, Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on August 6 at about 2:00 p.m. in Ado-Ekiti. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo state command, has arrested four suspected human traffickers and rescued nine persons used as prostitutes in the state. The command also said it had recovered 55 smuggled 30-litre kegs of petrol around Gwagwasu Moore Road, Kishi, in the northern part of the state.
