The US First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 and developed mild symptoms, the White House said on Tuesday, two weeks after her husband Joe Biden contracted the virus for a second time. Latest data on the amount spent in subsidising Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, seen in Abuja on Monday showed that the government subsidised the commodity with N1.593tn between January and June 2022. It was also gathered that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited pumped N54.66bn into refinery rehabilitation during the six months period. Nigerien President Mohamed Bazoum’s government has denied receiving N1.2 billion from President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime, contradicting a statement by Nigeria’s minister of finance, Zainab Ahmed.
