Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the death of the national chairman, Retired Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Brig. Gen. Harold Udokwere. The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has sentenced a 24-year-old commercial driver, Abdul Hudu, to life imprisonment for defiling and abducting a 10-year-old girl (name withheld). Justice Rahman Oshodi held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt the two-count charge of abduction and defilement against Mr Hudu. The Ogun State government on Monday announced a cholera outbreak in the state, with 25 cases in seven local government areas and a casualty in the Ijebu North. At a press briefing at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre in Abeokuta, the state Commissioner for Health, Tomi Coker, said nine of the 25 cases have been confirmed, but 16 others are still under close monitoring.
