Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday won the All Progressives Congress’ governorship primary by 1,168 votes to defeat five other aspirants. The Supreme Court has reserved judgement in a suit filed by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation, seeking an interpretation of Section 84(12) of the electoral act, 2022. The seven-man panel led by Justice Mohammed Dattijo, says the date will be communicated to the parties involved in the suit. Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has emerged winner of the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party. Makinde polled a total of 1,040 delegates votes to defeat his rival, Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi who had two votes. The primary was held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday. Announcing the result, the returning officer, Ben Obi, represented by Abdullahi MaiBasia, said Makinde emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for Oyo State having polled the highest number of valid votes.
