Durojaiye, a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, died on Monday in Lagos reportedly due to complications of Covid-19. He was 88. Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has mourned his death. Suspected armed bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer, 9news Nigeria has learnt. According to report, the bandits were also said to have also kidnapped two majors but Daily Trust cannot independently verify this. One of the leading artists to come out of Nigeria, Yusuf Grillo, is dead. He died in the early hours of today, Monday. He was born in 1934. One of his children, Mrs Adeyemi, confirmed Grillo’s passing to Vanguard. She told Vanguard in a brief telephone chat, “Yes, my father is dead. He died this morning. The wife of the first Military Head of State, Gen. Thompson Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi, Lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi is dead. She died Monday morning, less than 24 hours after the wife of the late Premier of the defunct Eastern region, Dr Michael Okpara died. Both of them hailed from Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State. Lady Aguiyi-Ironsi according to a close family source died of an old age-related ailment.
