The comptroller general of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, says 107,646 produced passports remained uncollected nationwide. The service public relations officer (SPRO), Kenneth Udo, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja. The CG, however, appealed to applicants whose passports have been produced for pick-up at the various passport-issuing centres across the country. A driver hit and killed a female pedestrian along the Awka-Onitsha Expressway in Anambra on Friday night,  according to the state Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Adeoye Irelewuyi, the commander of the FRSC in Anambra, told journalists in Awka on Saturday that the driver fled the scene after the incident. Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has been released from Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory after 27 months in detention. Kyari was arrested on February 14, 2022, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for his alleged involvement with an international drug cartel. The police command in Delta says it recovered weapons from suspected kidnappers in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state. The command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, told journalists on Friday in Warri that the police had launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects. A magistrates’ court in Abeokuta on Friday sentenced a teenager, Ayomide Oguntoyinbo, to two weeks of community service for breaking into a house and stealing foodstuffs.
