The Borno government is targeting 447,126 girls for vaccination against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The Commissioner for Health, Baba Malam-Gana, said this at the inauguration of the vaccination exercise on Tuesday in Maiduguri. HPV is the most common Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI); it causes an infection, typically through sexual contact. Warts are a common symptom.
