Governor Abba Yusuf on Wednesday assented to the Kano State Premarital Health Screening Bill into law. The new law mandates premarital health screening for all prospective couples in the state. While signing the law in Kano, Mr Yusuf urged its faithful implementation to uphold the sanctity of marriages in Kano and ensure the birth of healthy offspring free from preventable illnesses. Six political parties in Ekiti have disassociated themselves from the recently conducted election and inauguration by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC). The election was held on April 23 at the INEC office in Ado-Ekiti. The Rivers Police Command has announced the arrest of a gang allegedly specialised in kidnapping and raping young women in the state. Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have killed two suspects who kidnapped three Indian nationals on their way home.
