The Mapo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Thursday sentenced Opeyemi Adeshina to three years’s imprisonment with hard labour for stealing five cell phones from worshippers. The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2024 following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet related activities. The Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday remanded a 46-year-old man, Ifeanyi Fred, for defiling a 15-year-old girl. The court, however, granted bail to the other two women for allegedly procuring an abortion for the victim. The defendants include a trader, Fred, 46, and the victim’s aunt, 36-year-old Gift Odini, a food vendor. An auxiliary nurse, Shabi Oluwaseyifunmi, 40, is among the defendants.
