A lawyer, Jesutega Onokpasa, has advised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission not to act above the law in its efforts to arrest and prosecute the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, over alleged N80.2 billion fraud. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency seized 1,250,000 pills of psychoactive drugs weighing 450kg in Adamawa on Saturday, its Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, stated on Sunday in Abuja. He stated that the drugs were seized in a car at Girei while on its way to Mubi, Adamawa State. At least 14 persons died in a head-on collision involving two Toyota buses on Sunday in Kogi State. Thirteen persons survived in the accident which occurred at Aloma community in the Ofu Local Government Area of the state. An eyewitness said the accident involved a Toyota Sienna bus heading toward the South-East and a Toyota Hiace bus heading to Abuja from the southern part of the country. Troops of 1 Division of the Nigeria Army eliminated several terrorists who ambushed them on Friday while on fighting patrol around Karaga Village in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger.
