A traditional ruler from Edo State has been abducted by unidentified assailants, who also killed a motorcycle rider during the attack. The monarch, His Royal Highness Friday Ehizojie, was kidnapped in a forested area between Ubiaja, near Rest House Junction, and the Udo community. The Oyo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Ayodele Sonubi, has described driving unregistered vehicles as an abnormality requiring the impoundment of such cars by the police. The CP said this following Monday’s enforcement campaign of the third-party insurance policy on motorists within the Ibadan metropolis. The deputy spokesman for the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese (APC-Benue), says plans are ongoing to increase funding for some strategic agencies in the 2025 Appropriation Bill.
