In the early hours of Wednesday, gunmen have attacked Adani police divisional headquarters in the Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu. Hassan Yahaya, the Commander, Nsukka Area Command, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria and said he was already in Adani to see things for himself. “Yes, there was an attack on Adani police division on early Wednesday morning. “I am there now to see things for myself, assess the level of destruction, and know casualties,” added Mr Yahaya. The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwatotimi Akeredolu, yesterday declared that there was ‘no victor and no vanquished,’ as the Election Petition Tribunal, that looked into complaints that emanated from the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in the state, dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN). The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), when fully implemented, could afford Nigerian companies preferential access to African markets worth $504.17 billion in goods, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has said. Chad’s newly re-elected President Idriss Deby Itno, in power for three decades, died Tuesday of injuries while fighting rebels in the north of the Sahel country, the army said Tuesday.
