The governor, who stated this on Saturday in a broadcast, said the measure was necessary as family members and senior government officials around him tested positive for COVID-19. Lagos State Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will go into self-isolation immediately after one of his close aides tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 10, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said. The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned state governors to stay away from pension funds or face massive protest. The warning came in a bit to stop state governors from borrowing N17 trillion from the pension funds purportedly for infrastructural development. The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, insisted that the governors have no authority over the funds. Two persons have been confirmed killed in the attack on the traditional ruler of Isinigbo in Akure North local government area, Oba Samuel Fadahunsi. The persons were a driver of the Monarch and one of his brothers. Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the killings said the brother of the monarch was shot dead while the driver was burnt alive inside one of the cars in the palace. Ikoro said normalcy has been restored to the community. Isinigbo and neighbouring Ude community have been at war over the sale of the disputed land.
Tibor Nagy, the United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, has commended the Nigeria Police Force over the arrest of two kidnappers of Philippe Nathan Walton. Mr Walton, an American citizen, was kidnapped at his farm in Masalata Village, Republic of Niger, sometimes in October. Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Friday said that his administration have spent N7.5 billion to settle the gratuities of pensioners in 18 months of his administration. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced a new pricing regime for the enhanced Treasury Single Account (TSA) e-collection model. According to the guidelines for the on-going TSA eCollections enhancement project by the apex bank, which becomes effective January 1, 2021, all government collections must be channelled through the new TSA eCollection model.
