Nigeria’s Attorney General, Abubakar Malami may be in trouble as some lawyers have launched a petition to strip him of his Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) title. Malami drew the ire of certain lawyers over the amendments he made to the rules of professional conduct for legal practitioners (RPC), 2007. The communities are Mese which has been completely washed away and Awoye which is about to be submerged by the Ocean. SOCIO-ECONOMIC Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against Ahmad Lawan, Nigeria’s Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of House of Representatives over “their failure to publish reports of all completed public hearings and corruption probes by the National Assembly since 1999″. The organisation is equally suing the leadership of the National Assembly for their failure to disclose the number of probes that have resulted in any indictment of suspects and to name such suspects. The Management of Arik Air has asked for the intervention of the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, over the planned industrial action by aviation unions scheduled to commence on Monday. Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Godswill Akpabio, at the weekend, inaugurated a committee to resolve the internal wrangling in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), which he said had distracted the interventionist agency from its mandate.
