The Lagos State Police Command has deployed 1,000 cops to Edo State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election. The deployment followed directive by the Inspector General of Police (IG) Mohammed Adamu for enhanced security before, during and after the elections in the state. IG Adamu had announced the deployment of 30,000 cops to be drawn from various commands and formations for the polls. The corporation disclosed this in a statement by the Group General Manager Public Affairs Division, Dr Kennie Obateru, in Abuja, on Sunday.
