The Bayelsa State governorship election tribunal today nullified the election of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. In a majority judgment delivered by Justice Yunusa Musa in the petition brought before it by the Advance National Democratic Party (ANDP) the tribunal held that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) unlawfully excluded from the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state. The Nigerian Government has reacted to the closure of shops owned by Nigerian traders in Ghana by the Ghanaian authorities. Last week, a video trended online showing the Ghanaian authorities locking the shops of Nigerians after checking their documents/ certificates for running his business in the country. The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) will on Monday unveil Gboye Adegbenro as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi. The state Chairman of ZLP, Mr. Joseph Akinlaja, last night confirmed Adegbenro as the party’s choice for a running mate. Former Commissioner for Youths and Sports Yekini Olanipekun has, however, denied eyeing the ZLP governorship ticket. The Nigerian Army says it has concluded arrangement to organise a Combat Life Savers Training Course for its personnel engaged in internal security operations to improve capacity of saving lives.
