A former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Kalu, who was jailed for allegedly stealing public funds, has been released from custody. The Lagos State Government has discharged 20 additional COVID-19 patients from its isolation centres, bringing to 928 the number of successfully treated persons in the state. Announcing this Wednesday, the Incident Commander on COVID-19 in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said 14 of the patients were males, while six were females, adding that they are all Nigerians. A 19-year-old student of the Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, Ibadan, Barakat Bello, has been allegedly raped and killed in Ibadan, Oyo State, by yet-to-be-identified persons. It was gathered that Barakat was killed in her home at Akinyele local government area of the state on Monday night.
