NO fewer than 30 houses including a primary school have been damaged following a rainstorm in Iragon-Iragbo community in Badagry, Lagos. The community witnessed extreme weather on Sunday which caused many buildings to partially collapse or have their roofs blown away. Nigeria’s military has conducted a wave of air raids on criminal gangs in the northwest of the country in an operation to halt attacks on civilians and residents, the military said. Residents reported bombings by military jets in recent days on remote camps used by armed cattle rustlers and kidnappers in Katsina and Zamfara states. Six patients have died of coronavirus-related complications in Lagos, Delta, Edo, Ogun, Rivers, and Sokoto states. Four persons who work as grave diggers at a public cemetery owned by Akure South Local Government along Imafon road, Akure have been arrested after five human heads were found in their possession. They were identified as Kunle Olomofe aged 45, Adewale Abiodun aged 40, Akinola Sunday aged 69 and Oluwadare Idowu aged 67. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will create electronic platforms for submission of nomination forms by political parties and other activities in the Edo and Ondo governorship elections to minimise physical contacts over fear of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was contained in a policy document released and signed by INEC Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood.
