A statement by Donald Ojogo, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, on Thursday said all workers in the public service would observe the holiday.

The statement titled, ‘Ondo Decides: Friday is work-free day,’ explained that the holiday was approved to enable workers have enough time to prepare for the poll.

It reads in part, “The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN has directed that Friday, October 9, 2020 be observed as work-free for workers in the State Public Service.

“The governor’s decision comes on the heels of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020. It is specifically approved to enable workers have enough time to embark on adequate measures aimed at preparing themselves for the Election.”
