The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has condemned in the strongest term the shooting of peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

Adefisoye described the event of the ‘Black Tuesday’ as regrettable and unacceptable. He particularly lamented the deployment of uniform men that pumped live bullets into the bodies of innocent Nigerian youths.

In a statement issued by Oluyemi Fasipe, the Special Adviser on Media & Publicity to Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye on October 21, 2020, asserted that the shooting of innocent youths at the Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday was a needless, avoidable and blatant violation of the rights of the defenseless people.

Meanwhile, Adefisoye has pleaded with the youths to exercise calm and urged the relevant government authorities to investigate the unfortunate shooting incident and ensure that all the culpable persons were brought to justice.
