Court Docks FUTA Student for Assault, Sharing Nude Contents of Ex-Lover in Akure.
Irewole Oluwatuyi, an Undergraduate Student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has been docked before a chief magistrate court for allegedly posting nude footage of his Ex lover.
Oluwatuyi (24 yrs) was arraigned by the Police before the magistrate court on charges of unauthorized recording, disseminating nude images, and assault.
The defendant and other suspects who are still at large committed the crime on September 29, 2023, around 1:30 pm at Aule in Akure, which is part of the Akure Magisterial District, according to police prosecutor Simon Wada, who testified in court
Mr Wada alleged that the defendant conspired to defame his ex-girlfriend, Joy Adedeji, by posting her nude video on social media, thereby humiliating her. Mr Wada also said the defendant had earlier on the 27th of same month, assaulted the victim, by beating her with a fist blow, which caused injury to her body.
The offences, he said, contravened Sections 516, 351 and 451 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2016. The prosecutor however, prayed for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file.
In her ruling, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with 2 sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till December 15, 2023, for further hearing
