Dr. Olayide Adelami, deputy governor of Ondo state, on Thursday received members of the alumni association of the national institute, who came on a courtesy visit to his office in Akure.

The alumni association from Ondo and Ekiti states comprised of high-profile policy-makers in both the private and public sectors, who attended the one year senior management course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS), Kuru Jos.

Chairman of the association, Dr Michael Ojo, said the team came to congratulate Adelami, who is a member of the association, for his appointment as deputy governor of Ondo state and, to inform him of the decision of the association to make him its patron.

According to him, “It is important to come around to felicitate with you as one of our own, who has been elevated to the position of the deputy governor. We know your track record in public service and we hope you will bring your wealth of experience to bare in this new assignment”

Secretary of the association, Associate Professor, Lawal Oyeneyin, said they were impressed to see a public servant of Adelami’s caliber being appointed to a position of higher responsibility at the state level where life-changing policies are being formulated and implemented.

Responding, the deputy governor thanked members of the association for deeming it fit to call on his office and identify with him.

He assured them of the state government’s readiness for collaboration in various areas of policy formulation to drive development in the state, charging them to continue to research on innovative methods of project conceptualization and delivery.

“Ideas rule the world, we need leaders with requisite capacity to move the system forward by emplacing the right policies and that is what NIPSS is doing. I commend you for coming around for this courtesy visit. I charge you to look into areas of collaboration for the development of our dear state” the deputy governor said.
