Hackers hijack Kano Hisbah’s Facebook, post nude content

Hackers have taken control of the official Facebook page of the Kano State Hisbah Board, flooding it with explicit and inappropriate content.

This breach, which occurred on Wednesday, has sparked widespread condemnation from the public, with many voicing their dismay at the troubling incident.

The Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, confirmed the hack during a press briefing on Friday.

He assured that the board had swiftly addressed the situation and was taking steps to resolve it.

“Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared. On behalf of the board, I call on people to help solve this problem,” Sheikh Daurawa stated.

He further reassured the public that the board’s Information and Communication Technology department is diligently working to regain control of the page.

He mentioned that the board is in contact with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to expedite the resolution of this issue.

In a proactive move, Sheikh Daurawa also urged the community to report the hacked page to Meta, emphasizing that reports should be submitted in English to enhance the chances of halting the spread of the offensive content.

The Head of ICT at the Hisbah Board, Sani Zailani, provided additional context, revealing that this was not the first time the account had been compromised.
