Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has removed five commissioners from his cabinet, though no official reason has been provided for their dismissal.

Sources close to the state government suggest that the sacking may be attributed to underperformance over the past year.

A statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SGS), Architect Samuel Jatau, confirmed the dismissals.

The affected commissioners include Chrysanthus Dawam (Budget and Economic Planning), Noel Nkup (Youth and Sports), Jamila Tukur (Tourism and Hospitality), Obed Goselle (Science and Technology), and Sule Musa (Commerce and Industry).

Notably, both Dawam and Tukur had previously been suspended for three months last year for reasons that were not publicly disclosed.

In the wake of the dismissals, Governor Mutfwang has approved the appointment of five new commissioners.

The new appointees are Sunday Alex from Bassa Local Government Area, Joyce Ramnap from Langtang South, Sylvanus Dongtoe from Shendam, Nicholas Baamlong from Qua’an Pan, and Cornelius Doeyok from Qua’an Pam.
