A viral video circulating online on Thursday captured the moment Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, proposed to Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.

In the video, the singer and the lawmaker were seen dancing together, surrounded by friends who cheered them on. Moments later, 2Baba presented a ring to Osawaru, and the two shared a long embrace.

This proposal comes just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his relationship with Osawaru, sparking widespread reactions on social media.

Amid Separation from Annie Idibia

The revelation follows the singer’s recent separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with whom he has been married for over a decade.

2Baba’s closeness to Osawaru had already fueled speculation, especially after he was spotted at the Edo State Assembly, and a video surfaced showing them together at a Lagos club.

Addressing the rumors, 2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday to clarify the situation.

“I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted,” he said.

“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labeled a home breaker.

“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.

“Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, and I want to marry her.”
