A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Bassa, Abuja, has released 22-year-old Lawrence Destiny, who was accused of unlawfully entering the international wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport with a dog.
Chief Magistrate Abdulrazaq Eneye ordered his release on Wednesday after he had spent three weeks at Kuje Correctional Center. While granting him freedom, the magistrate advised Destiny to take advantage of the second chance and avoid drug use.
He also cautioned that any future offense could result in a stricter penalty.
Expressing his gratitude, Destiny assured the court that he would stay out of trouble.
He revealed plans to start a barbershop to support himself and secure a better future.
During the court proceedings, the prosecution stated that Destiny had entered the airport terminal with a black dog and attempted to stop a British Airways pilot, claiming he had an urgent message for Elon Musk.
Authorities classified the act as a security violation.
