Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for writing a letter to the State House of Assembly regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling on the state’s political crisis.
Wike dismissed the letter as “useless” and expressed disapproval over Fubara’s method of communication during a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
He stressed that the Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, and other lawmakers are not under the governor’s control and should be accorded proper respect.
According to Wike, rather than sending a formal letter, Governor Fubara should have personally reached out to the Speaker and members of the Assembly to request a meeting.
More details are expected soon.
