The Jigawa State Police Command has launched investigations into two separate tragic incidents—the discovery of a headless teenage boy’s body and the murder of a newlywed bride.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu, police officers were alerted on Wednesday around 10:00 p.m. to the presence of a mutilated corpse in Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram Local Government Area.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the body of a young boy, decapitated and with his private parts removed.

“The body was later identified as that of a 14-year-old Almajiri who had been reported missing two days earlier,” Shiisu said.

The victim’s remains were certified dead by a medical doctor and subsequently released to his family for burial.

The police say investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the gruesome act.

In a separate incident, police are also investigating the death of 22-year-old Zainab Ibrahim in Hadejia Local Government Area.

Zainab, a newlywed, was found with a slit throat just five weeks after her wedding.

She was rushed to the General Hospital in Hadejia, where a doctor confirmed her death.

The police have begun a full investigation and say efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators.
