A female realtor identified as Esther has been abducted by gunmen in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. The attack occurred on Monday near the Admiralty University of Nigeria, just days after a farmer was kidnapped in Issele-Azagba.
Esther was inspecting a piece of land alongside three colleagues when the assailants struck. According to sources, the group was ambushed on their way back from the site.
The attackers opened fire on their vehicle, forcing the others to flee while Esther was taken away.
One of the escapees sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in critical condition.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, revealed that officers deployed for the rescue operation also fell into an ambush, resulting in one policeman being shot.
However, he assured that no lives were lost in the attack.
